At Fitlife, our spring and summer hockey performance programs are designed to take focused, dedicated and hardworking athletes to the next level in this extremely demanding sport. Our commitment is to provide players with the expertise and tools necessary to realize their utmost potential" Adam Francilia, President
Fitlife's Spring Development Program begins with a "disassemble - reassemble" stage in which we break down and isolate different physical elements in order to "re-build" a well-balanced, functional and fully integrated athlete. As we progress through this three month program, intensity, technical demands and exercise complexity increase. Fundamental aspects of the areas mentioned below are used in order to build a strong foundation and prepare the athlete for our 8 Week Summer Hockey Intensive Camp.
Focus - Assessing and testing each athlete to identify areas of concern, for example relative muscle or flexibility imbalances, faulty neuromuscular recruitment patterns, acute or chronic injury, and conditioning requirements. We then "rebuild" the athlete in order to create a well-balanced foundation from which to progress to our next stage.
Three 75 minute Dryland sessions per week.
Focus - Building continues through corrective strength training techniques. We incorporate our specialized approach to core and low back conditioning into multi-directional/multi-plane movement patterns. Aerobic and anaerobic conditioning continues along with our dynamic balance and stability training. This stage acts as an important lead in for our demanding third stage.
Four 75 minute Dryland sessions per week.
Focus - In this demanding third stage, training techniques are advanced and intensified. Speed, reaction, and power are added. As we progress through this phase our athletes develop functional power though fully integrated exercises. Weekly on-ice sessions are; technique, skating skill and on-ice power are emphasized. At the conclusion of our Spring Development Program, our athletes will be prepared to take the next step -
The Fitlife 8 Week Summer Hockey Intensive.
Four 75 min. Dryland & one 60 min. On-ice session per week.
